Everything is Ka Pai!
It's tino pai actually! If you'd like to sing the song you have stuck into your home learning book with the music, go to our new Waiata page.
Find a Face
Will and Harvey were enjoying this books so much the other day they decided to try to find some faces at home. This morning I found some photos from Will in my inbox - thanks Will!
Can you find any faces at your house? Send them in and I'll load them up to the blog.

Graph Update
We had some surprises with our graph today. Quite a few people had expected the number of people scootering to increase, but it actually decreased. The number of people travelling by car stayed the same although different people came in the cars.
What will tomorrow bring?

How Did You Come to School Today?
We began making a pictograph today about how we came to school. We are going to collect information about Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each person in Room 17 drew a picture of how they came to school.
We talked about what we noticed on the graph. After that we made predictions about what the graph will look like tomorrow. First we looked at the weather forecast from our blog - we think that may make a difference.
Swimming
Hooray for swimming. It was a beautiful day in the pool today. How time changes everything - last time I took my class swimming (in December 2014) most kids had chattering teeth when they got out - today I wondered if everyone would get too hot again running around the field after the swim.
Some togs and towels were left in the cloakroom so I've hung them up to dry. If you recognise them you'll have to bundle them up again tomorrow before school.

Day One 2015 in Room 17
We have had a great day together today.
We managed to get the stationery sorted. It is a bit of a boring job, but it's done for the year now! Thanks to all the families for being so well organised this year!
After lunch we met with our buddy class, Room 2. Every person at St Albans School is going to create a mosaic tile for a community display this week.
Don't they look effective?
We've had a fun time getting to know each other a little better and developing some routines for learning. I'm looking forward to tomorrow already!
Sleep well tonight and don't forget your togs tomorrow!

Peter Pan
The Year Three teachers are encouraging the children in Year 3 and their families to go along to the Summer Theatre production of Peter Pan. The lead role of Peter Pan is played by a St Albans School old boy, Ben Ashby (who also happens to be my nephew). It is free and the details of performances are on the photo below and online, here.
Later in the term we are hopeful Ben will come and talk to us about his experiences in the production and how they relate to our topic of Myself as a Learner. Naturally children will be able to relate to this better if they have seen the production.
