Dear Spring...Part 4
Dear Spring
I like how you make the days so long. What happened to you? Because on the first day it’s like you died. I wish you came back so we could have good weather forever. I love the pretty blossom on the trees.
Love from Tahnul
Dear Spring
I hope you sprout up our flowers. I’m so excited when it is October because it will be my birthday. Perhaps tomorrow will be more sunny.
From Sophie S
Dear Spring
You spring me up and I love how you let the baby animals come out and play. I know that you are my favourite season because you are cold days and hot days. I like sunny days because you make people happy and you have rainy days that make plants grow.
Lots of love,
Lola
Dear Spring
You are a lovely season. I love the baby reindeer and flowers too, because it makes the city shine. Hurry up it’s spring you crazy person.
From Harvey
Dear Spring
I would really like you to give us sun because it has been a lovely time since you have come. I love daffodils and baby lambs but I want sun! Because I want to be warm. I love you Spring, for everything.
From Leticia
Dear Spring
Where are you? It is more like winter. Spring is supposed to be warm and hot. I like looking at the deer when I go on holiday. I hope it is sunny tomorrow.

Reading Enthusiasm!
It has been so exciting to hear the enthusiastic buzz of readers researching and scheming using the new National Library books this week. The first project you voted in was the candle holder one.
The jar candle holder project will take place next Friday so you have a bit of time to find a jar!
For this you will need a glass jar. Small jars are the most suitable for this project. They will need to have the labels removed from them. It doesn't matter if you don't still have the lid.
| All of these jars would be suitable. |

Harlem Globetrotters
Lucky Harvey and Will saw the Harlem Globetrotters at the Horncastle Arena yesterday. They were so enthusiastic about the experience it made us all wish we'd seen them. Jules remembers seeing them when she was 13 in Wellington.

Fabulous Friday
We were cooking with gas on Friday!
After a Jump Jam session we came inside and Harvey told us all about his Grampy, Graham Condon. He competed in six Paralympics over 20 years. We saw some of the medals he won for discus. When he began competing in the wheel chair events he couldn't buy the sort of wheel chair he needed so he had to make his own. Next time you go to the Graham Condon swimming pool you'll be able to look at the statue of Harvey's grandfather.
They sound a lot better than they look!!!

Next we started learning about different musical instruments and the way they make their sound. Many of the instruments we thought of were percussion instruments (ones that make their sound by being hit or scraped). By going to the hall and looking inside the piano there we discovered that the piano is a mixture of a percussion and string instrument.
We also spent some time finding out about the musical instrument we are all good at playing - our voice!
They sound a lot better than they look!!!

Massage Circle
What a lovely way to finish our swimming session today. Jonty, Marissa, Harvey and William M organised a massage circle for us. They got the instructions from a story they read.

| What did you like the best? Perhaps it was the thunder and lightning or maybe the hugs at the end. |

Find a Face
Will and Harvey were enjoying this books so much the other day they decided to try to find some faces at home. This morning I found some photos from Will in my inbox - thanks Will!
Can you find any faces at your house? Send them in and I'll load them up to the blog.
