Welcome to the World Baby Girl!

Ms Dowd had her baby yesterday - 15th October. She is a - not so little - girl. She weighs 4.25kg  (9lb 5oz if you're old fashioned). We haven't been told her name yet.

Olivia was the closest guess. She guessed: a girl called Imogen on 15th October weighing 4.5kg.

We'll have to wait and see if her name guess was right!

Welcome to Term Three!

Yippee! We are all together again. Today we have caught up on each others' news and views of the holidays.
There are a few things we'd like to ask about:

  1. Tissues - can we please have some boxes of tissues to help us keep our noses clean this term? Some families have already sent boxes along earlier in the year - thanks for that!
  2. Headphones - we could use a few more pairs of headphones in Room 17 to use when we're learning from the blogs. If you have a spare set hanging around home we'd really appreciate using them here.

Photo Day

Yes folks - it's the third to last day of the term and time to say...
Remember to clean your teeth... then wipe the tooth paste off your top!
It's Photo Day!

Junior School Leaders

Rooms 6, 7 & 8 have enjoyed our folk dancing concerts this week. Their teachers have been impressed with your fancy footwork and collaborative teamwork.

Tomorrow we'll share our reading skills with these folks so be sure to practise reading aloud this evening.

This Wednesday Will Be Wacky!

Did you know that Dr Seuss wrote a book called Wacky Wednesday? He used the name Theo. Le Sieg when he wrote it. That is Dr Seuss's real surname (Geisel) spelt backwards.
Have you ever been to Dr Seuss's website? It's pretty amazing. Click the image above to link to it.
This is a video someone made of the book and posted on YouTube.

What will you wear tomorrow that is wacky? Maybe your uniform will be on back to front or your underwear will be on the outside. That'd be pretty wacky!

Thanks for Your Generosity.

Room 17 raised $68.10 at the mufti day today to help the people of Nepal whose lives have been devastated by a large earthquake.

Well Worth the Wait!

We have had a fantastic time together today at Orana Wildlife Park.  If you had a parent there today could you ask them to email the photos to me or to put them on a memory drive so I can load then onto my computer? I can also put photo cards from most digital cameras into my laptop and download photos that way.
Sleep well tonight!

Orana Park - Here We Come!

Hooray, Monday is Orana Park day. At the moment the weather still looks like we might get a few showers so I hope you've got a rain coat organised. You will be able to wear clothes that will keep you warm because it is a mufti trip.
Bring a nice big lunch and drink of water.
Remember the bus leaves straight after 9 o'clock so don't sleep in (even if you do watch the cricket!).

ARRRGH!

We have decided to postpone our trip to Orana Park. It seems that the tail end of Cyclone Pam doesn't make for very pleasant weather - for us or animals!
We will now go on Tuesday the 24th March.

Reminder

Could you make sure all your clothing is named please? It takes ages to work out which shirt belongs to which body if there's a mix up! There were loads of "no name" shirts on Room 17 boys today.

Can You Help?

Tomorrow Ms Dowd is going to be doing some work with you about this book.
If you have a copy of it at home could you please bring it to school tomorrow?

Peter Pan

The Year Three teachers are encouraging the children in Year 3 and their families to go along to the Summer Theatre production of Peter Pan. The lead role of Peter Pan is played by a St Albans School old boy, Ben Ashby (who also happens to be my nephew). It is free and the details of performances are on the photo below and online, here.

Later in the term we are hopeful Ben will come and talk to us about his experiences in the production and how they relate to our topic of Myself as a Learner. Naturally children will be able to relate to this better if they have seen the production.
